Morgan Ellington: Vocals, Guitar
Bike McDermott: Bass
Harrison Chadwick: Drums

What do you get when you mix a guitarist with a background in improvisational jazz, a bass player with a love for all things techno, and a drummer obsessed with Rush? Mirth. With influences ranging from Prodigy to Barenakedladies, from Rush to Radiohead, from Hum to Sugar, Mirth blends the melodic with the metal and brings together maximum volume with subtle softness for a blend of modern, progressive rock that is easy to groove to and fun to spend your money at the bar to! Deferring all seriousness from themselves into the music makes for good tunes and fun… or is it mirth? (no fear of bad puns here!)

A word or two about the boys in the band: the obligatory and embarrassing "bio" portion. (Note the use of the industry term there! The experience shines through!)

Morgan Smith started playing trumpet, oh, just before puberty set in. Spending his college years playing in clubs with jazz musicians gave Morgan the ability to write music quickly and with a deft touch. Just after puberty Morgan picked up a guitar and took to the music of Bob Mould as well as Smith family favorites the Police and Rush. Complex chords are the fashion he wears on the guitar and the vocals intertwine in a "come sing along with me" manner. Morgan is fun.

Bike McDermott whips around the bass like he whipped around opposing players in his football glory days back in high school. Techno is the taste of the day for Bike, at least as far as his listening pleasure. Molding the hard core influences of Gravity Kills, God Lives Underwater and Stabbing Westward around his love of the groove that is techno gives Bike bouncing bass lines. Bike is big.

Harrison Chadwick is quite honestly obsessed with Rush. Due to his lack of actually being Neil Peart (or Stew Copeland, or Carter Beuford, or Tim Alexander for that matter), he is resigned to playing as loud as he can! His drum teacher is Wil Sperdute of Cows in the Graveyard (Call him. Go ahead. Guy loves him.) and he has made as big a difference in his love of drums as anyone. Harrison is moronic.
