Installing IE6 you get an error message that reads "A Previous Installation was not completed and requires a reboot".

Open regedit and go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

Select PendingFileRenameOperations in the right hand pane and press Delete.
