Installing pcAnywhere 9.0 on Windows 2000 RC1 (Build 2072)

Migrating from Windows 9x to Windows 2000

If you have already installed pcAnywhere 9.0 and are having problems starting your computer

Windows 2000 is a beta operating system (OS). Due to the frequent changes made while developing a beta OS, Symantec cannot guarantee any level of functionality of pcAnywhere with Windows 2000.

We do not recommend installing pcAnywhere 9.0 under Windows 2000 Beta. During Windows 2000's beta phase, Microsoft may make changes to the video and the Graphical Identification and Authentication (GINA) subsystems. If pcAnywhere is not compatible with those changes, you may blue screen on restart and may not be able to restart Windows at all.

pcAnywhere Technical Support does not provide support for any version of pcAnywhere on any beta version of an operating system or application.
