If you name a machine NAME$ this tells NT you don't want the
machine to be
seen on the network, it hides it like the default hidden admin
shares on the
drives. Remove the machine from the domain (delete the machine
account in
domain server manager) then go to the machine with the $ in the
name and open
control panel/networks and delete the name in the domain box and
enter a
temporary name in workgroup box. You can also remove the $ from
the machine
name at this time. reboot, open control panel again and put the
domain name
back in the domain box and also check the box to create a domain
account and
enter the admin name and password in the two boxes below it.
It should rejoin the domain and be seen by all.
